Year to date in 2024, Better World Rescue has rescued 153 dogs and cats, with a special focus on the euthanasia lists at our local shelters. One such dog is Teddy, a young Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix who was labeled as rescue-only at Manteca Shelter. Teddy spent several months as a stray and was undersocialized to humans as a result. Teddy is now flourishing out in the country with a very experienced foster. He loves other dogs, treats, and the "great indoors." His foster has gained his trust and we are now working to expand that to other humans. We look forward to seeing Teddy's continued growth in foster care. Dogs like Teddy often are euthanized in our local shelters due to a lack of facilities and fosters with the proper set-up and experience to handle them. That is why our building project is so important to us. Having a dedicated facility run by our expert behavioral volunteers will enable so many more lives to be saved.
Thank you again for your generous support of our dream. We have a ways to go to reach our goal for the facility, but every dollar helps. We are hopeful to realize our dream of a training facility within the next two years.
