Gift Stationery to 1,300 Rural Students

Organization: Society for Poor People Development (SPPD)
Location: Rural Tamil Nadu, India
Reporting Period: Current Quarter

With the continued encouragement of GlobalGiving, Society for Poor People Development (SPPD) is working to ensure that rural school children attend school with confidence, dignity, and joy.

This quarterly update shares the current progress of our project “Gift Stationery to 1,300 Rural Students” and highlights how even small contributions are making a meaningful difference in children’s education, mental well-being, and motivation to learn.

Fundraising Status

  • Amount Raised: USD 301
  • Project Goal: USD 9,100

While we are still at an early stage of fundraising, every donation has helped us move closer to ensuring that no child is left behind due to lack of basic learning materials.

How This Project Is Impacting Education

Access to stationery may seem simple, but for children from low-income rural families, it is transformative.

With stationery kits, students are now:

  • Going to school happily and without fear
  • Completing homework regularly at home
  • Participating actively in classroom learning
  • Using notebooks, pens, pencils, and learning materials consistently—both at school and at home

Teachers and parents have shared that children show improved concentration, confidence, and enthusiasm toward education.

Recent CSR Support & On-Ground Progress

We are happy to share that a CSR-supported initiative by nference.net recently enabled 750 rural children in Tamil Nadu to receive complete stationery kits.

The distribution program is ongoing and will continue until March 20 of this month.

This support has significantly strengthened the project’s momentum and reinforced the importance of partnerships in reaching more children.

More Than Education: Health & Well-Being

Though stationery is a small gift, its impact goes far beyond academics:

  • Reduces stress and anxiety among children
  • Improves mental well-being and self-esteem
  • Encourages regular school attendance
  • Supports healthy learning habits and physical posture through proper materials

Children feel equal, prepared, and motivated, which is essential for long-term educational success.

Looking Ahead

As the project continues, we will keep working toward reaching 1,300 rural students.
In our next report, we plan to share real student stories and photographs, highlighting personal journeys and the deeper impact of your generosity.

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving donors, CSR partners, and well-wishers for standing with rural children in their educational journey. Your support—no matter the size—creates lasting change.

With gratitude,
Raju Joseph
