During the 2nd wave and existing condition of a pandemic like the last year, we did not leave out our beneficiaries and persisted in supporting them. We continued to provide aid for them with ration and hygiene kits and kept them employed in a range of educational and vocational training activities so that they can become financially self-sustaining soon once the situation gets normalized.
To make them self-independent, we at Vipla Foundation are driving a project in Maharashtra and working with women survivors as well as community girls and helping them with courses driven by us. These projects include Employability Skills Training Program, Educational, and vocational training program, Beautician courses, Soft skill training, and other courses too. Through these courses, they can become financially self-supported once the course is completed. We do not only provide the courses training but also try to arrange job placement for these beneficiaries once the course is done so that they can support themselves and their families.
In the past 3 months, we have worked with 24 candidates out of 12 of them who have finished their training and the other 12 candidates under training. Apart from that Vipla Foundation is supporting 11 trafficking survivors with seed finances to start with a small stall for livelihood and survival. The seed money is a non-payable amount that is given to the survivors who want to start their micro-enterprises in snacks corners, cutlery stalls, tea stalls, beauty salons, grocery, and masala centers.
To equip continued support to these women and girls, we urge like-minded people to keep donating and supporting our initiatives.
