"The only thing constant is change".
After years of incredible artistic program Garabato comes to an end. Well, kind of. It's time for a renewal, to think of refreshing ideas and we want to start from scratch.
During all these years, and thanks to your incredible support, we've impacted hundreds of children in Rosario with creativity and curiosity. The individual stories have been amazing and the overall results impressive. But we know we can do even better, and that's why we are closing Garabato Artistic project to start a new program with innovative concepts that will allow us to reach and connect with children in better ways.
We thank you for being there and to respond to Argentinean children's needs. We hope you keep on following our work and other projects we have in Globalgiving, we will for sure counting with you for our new challenges!
All the best for 2016 and see you soon!
Things have been rolling for a couple of months now and creativity is flowing in the air, kids have created flower vases from old water bottles, portraits with egg shells and venetian- like cardboard masks.
Last week we made a special visit to a local park that has a huge focus on local artists and in getting kids closer to art and unleashing their innate innovative skills. It was full of fun and laughs. For many kids, it also meant breaking some inner barriers and daring to use the “fly machine” despite their fears.
This November 10 we will be hosting our first festival, the “Happy Cities Festival” that intends to inspire the community into thinking the type of city that we live in and how we can work to improve it. We will also be showing our work there, so if you, or anyone you know happens to be in Rosario during that date, please stop by!
If you have any questions, remarks or ideas please contact me luz.amuchastegui@eldesafio.org and if you haven´t done it yet, join our facebook fanpage where we share day to day information.
The Kids participating on the Garabato artistic workshop have become a great unified group, and have created cool stuff to take home made of recycled materials. So far they’ve created a photo frame made with cardboard and egg shells!
They have also created their own version of the classic game “snakes and ladders” to play together with their siblings and friends.
The past weeks the kids have been working with puppets on creating a show where they sing songs that they learn on other workshops that we run at El Desafío.
Check out our website for more updates on this and other programs that we develop, and please contact us and share your thoughts and ideas through our social media!

Every year as the kids arrive for our workshops there is a first period of knowing each other and making new friends. This 2015 was no exception! And to help that process we made sure that many fun ice breaking games went on.
Then it was time to put our hands to work, and start creating amazing things, the first thing they created where cool personalized notebooks to take to school. Then, they created beautiful center pieces to decorate their homes that go together with recycled paper trays.

2014 was a great year, besides the cool activities that the kids were able to do through the different classes, we got amazing results in terms of the objectives that we pursue.
We saw significant increases on the kid’s self-esteem, communications skills and their abilities to solve conflicts. We know that this personal abilities will allow them to grow up as models within the community and have better chances of changing the social and economic problems that they are facing.
We are now working on the 2015 planning of the program, this means learning from our pasts experiences and keep our continuous improvement process running. So far it looks exciting!
I share some nice pictures that represents 2014, and will soon post back more news as we start the year.
