Report May 2013 - We keep on moving

Great period we just finished. Many children signed in for the 2013 project and they are making incredible progress. New children signed in this year for the program and they have been working on different activities. They have been making their own puzzles, 'rolled magazines' boxes, painting and drawing. During the activities there is a safe environment where kids feel comfortable to talk about different issues in their lifes. This has been a great platform to help children to build selfesteem needed to face these issues the best way.
Meanwhile, we have been renewing our workspace to make it more creative and fun for the children, so we make sure to estimulate them as much as possible so they can unleash their gifts.

End 2012 report and getting ready for 2013

After holiday season in Argentina (December and January) and well deserved resting period, children and staff are ready to kick off 2013 official activities. But before telling you the renewed plans, a quick update on what happened in the last months.
The children finished 2012 in a great way. Attendance rates recorded 83% during the year, which is an all-time record. Thank to the program we could learn more about each child and give them the right tools and environment to develop. We've noticed an improvement in their self esteem and better performances at school. Also, it was quite visible their improvement in communicating to each other with no violence or agrression.
Late November we had our yearly presentation in Rosario, Argentina, in where we put together some speakers of our staff, show of the children and volunteers in order to connect with the local public and inspire them to join in our cause. It was a great way to finish the year, nearly 340 people came that day and joined as volunteers or social investors (becoming recurring donors).
2013 is full of new projects: we are renewing our space, adding more children and new objectives too. We are planning to connect even more with parents and the community, and even offering them workshops that give them skills to raise a child in the best possible way (nutrition, cooking classes, urban farming, violence prevention, etc)
Thanks to your support we are able to keep on growing every year and children are developing in a healthy environment; avoiding truancy, criminality, early pregnancy and becoming owners of their own destiny. Let's keep on writing together then!

Garabato. 3rd Quarter 2012.

For the past months the kids have working on preparing decoration items for the party the foundation celebrates every year called “Mi Barrio” which means my neighborhood. The idea behind the creation of this items is that the kids can take ownership for the events the foundation organizes for the whole neighborhood.
We are also preparing our yearly presentation in which the children will show all the work they have done this year and we will present our plans for 2013 to the rest of the city.
The program is running smoothly. We are working on monitoring tools to keep track on the progress of the each individual child. In the next report I will more information on this. We are very excited about it.
