Dearest Friends and Supporters,

We are very happy and proud to say that the 3 Buds Network we have reopened at the end of 2023, are doing very well. They have helped more than 100 children have access to after school support.

From the 8th to the 12th of April, GlobalGiving organised a campaign called #LittlebyLittle, during which the platform was matching your donations up to $50 by 50%. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to raise more than 200$, which will be extremely useful to continue providing support to children affected by HIV, TB and/or extreme poverty and to open new centres.

On the 5th of June, the Kalakudi tuition center, present in a Muslim village, organised activities for World Environment Day. The kids learnt about the importance of living in a clean environment and to protect our Mother Earth. The team even organised a drama role-play to create awareness among the children. On the same day, tree samplings were planted, near the tuition center.

Since mid-May, it is the summer holiday, the kids are enjoying some free time with their families, some other centres in other districts but the ones in Kalakudi and Kuruchikulam remain open every day for the kids.

Moreover, the kids also have started to learn some English words, very useful for their future.

All the Blossom team expresses its immense gratitude for your ongoing support that is allowing us to meaningfully improve the daily life of our children from Buds Network!

A Huge Thank you!

We were thrilled with the result of our giving Tuesday campaign, where we not only met but doubled our goal! Thanks to you, our generous donors, our mission to reopen the Buds Centres in Virudhunagar and Madurai districts has been achieved.

In 2016, the Blossom organisation's Buds Network, a landmark for children affected by HIV/AIDS in the rural district of Virudhunagar, faced an unfortunate setback. Due to a lack of funds, this after-school program, dedicated to academic education and life skill development, had to be put on hold.

But now, thanks to your donations, we have been able to reach 120 children! Our Buds Network centres provide academic education and life skill development to children affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as counselling support to both parents and teachers. In this way, we are safeguarding their right to education while fighting against stigma and discrimination.

Without your valuable help, restarting these activities would not have been possible! You are contributing to put a smile on the children of Buds Network and to ensure them a better future!

Celebrating Pongal at our Buds Centres

From the 13th to the 16th of January our Buds Centres celebrated the Tamil harvest festival Pongal! The children loved celebrating the special day and gave thanks for a bountiful harvest with dancing, singing… and even eating Candy Floss! “Pongal” is also the name of the traditional boiled sweet rice dish which is made and eaten during the festival which our children and staff enjoyed together also.

We can still do more!

But we are not stopping here. Our goal is to open 50 centres in total and reach over 2,500 vulnerable children, aged 6 to 18, across Tamil Nadu with supplementary education and support.

Recent achievements

Today, thanks to your donations, we have started to work again in the village of Thathankulam in Madurai district! Here, the Buds Centre is operating as an education centre supporting vulnerable children. This centre is providing academic education and life skill development to children affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as counselling support to both parents and teachers. In this way, we are safeguarding their right to education while fighting against stigma and discrimination.

Without your valuable help, restarting these activities would not have been possible! You are contributing to put a smile on the children of Buds Network and to ensure them a better future!

We can still do more !

But today we still need your support to fully revive our Buds Network project and reach even more vulnerable children across Tamil Nadu!

With further generous contributions, we could indeed restore our 13 initial centres and provide as many children as possible (ages 6 to 18) with supplementary education and support.
