All the Blossom team expresses its immense gratitude for your ongoing support that is allowing us to meaningfully improve the daily life of our children from Buds Network!
We were thrilled with the result of our giving Tuesday campaign, where we not only met but doubled our goal! Thanks to you, our generous donors, our mission to reopen the Buds Centres in Virudhunagar and Madurai districts has been achieved.
In 2016, the Blossom organisation's Buds Network, a landmark for children affected by HIV/AIDS in the rural district of Virudhunagar, faced an unfortunate setback. Due to a lack of funds, this after-school program, dedicated to academic education and life skill development, had to be put on hold.
But now, thanks to your donations, we have been able to reach 120 children! Our Buds Network centres provide academic education and life skill development to children affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as counselling support to both parents and teachers. In this way, we are safeguarding their right to education while fighting against stigma and discrimination.
Without your valuable help, restarting these activities would not have been possible! You are contributing to put a smile on the children of Buds Network and to ensure them a better future!
From the 13th to the 16th of January our Buds Centres celebrated the Tamil harvest festival Pongal! The children loved celebrating the special day and gave thanks for a bountiful harvest with dancing, singing… and even eating Candy Floss! “Pongal” is also the name of the traditional boiled sweet rice dish which is made and eaten during the festival which our children and staff enjoyed together also.
But we are not stopping here. Our goal is to open 50 centres in total and reach over 2,500 vulnerable children, aged 6 to 18, across Tamil Nadu with supplementary education and support.
