The months of May and June were busy with a few Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drives and Education and Awareness sessions held with children and communities on eradication of Rabies as well as on harmonious co-existence with animals around us.
We were able to vaccinate more than 700 street dogs and cats against Rabies in addition to the over 400 spay/neuter surgeries during the past two months. As always, our plates were full with the many rescues and special surgeries that resulted in incredible transformation stories that were heartwarming. Your generous donations helped us provide emotional enrichment to many of our special-need dogs by way of regular wheel-cart time. It is heartening to see them exploring new sights and smells and also meet and greet staff and visitors.
Of the several rescues that we were involved in, Ranchi's story stands out. Ranchi was found dragging her tiny limbs after she was struck by a vehicle leaving her hind quarters paralysed. Despite not having any sensation on her hind limbs, a combination of physio and hydrotherapy at a foster care really turned her life around. What progressed into unsteady steps slowly became steady and she started to bear weight on her limbs. Miracles like this are made possible only by your generous donations.
Maxy's state was very critical when he was found with his feet tied together in a pile of garbage. His jaw was fractured and he was almost unconscious. Over the course of a month in which he received continual medical care, regular wound dressing, nutritious food, and lots of love, he started to heal and is able to walk on his own. The amazing transformation was quite a sight to watch and we are overjoyed to report that Maxy has survived against all odds!
YOU are the reason that we are able to make a difference to several lives every day. Buddy, Nila, Zara, and Bhujji—all have a future to look forward to, because of your support. Your $10 donation covers the entire cost of a spay/neuter surgery including anti-rabies vaccination, that plays the most important role in mitigating suffering of street animals. No amount is too small when it comes to making a difference to precious lives and we record our deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to your sustained commitment to the cause.
