May and June 2021 continued to pose challenges because of the pandemic; however, the overwhelming support from many compassionate individuals all over the globe, especially through this portal, helped us tide over these times and also perform several life-saving surgeries, amazing adoptions and a very engaging rabies vaccination drive where we interacted with several members of a village community to positively reinforce the need to co-habit with street animals.
The most remarkable achievement for us during these two months has been in the area of life-saving surgeries that we were able to perform where some of the pets could be saved from the brink of death. We were also able to conduct a few incredible adoptions - noteworthy among them being those of Daisy and Camus as well as Sigma and Omega - the last of the 8 pups that were abandoned in front of our shelter-gate.
Three cases of dogs trapped in snares were rescued this month and with due care and caution, all three were eventually relieved of the awful contraptions and have since then successfully rehabilitated. In the month of June alone we successfully carried out 8 life-saving surgeries, from a leg amputation to splenectomy and an emergency C-section on a cat that had a dead foetus in her stomach. Stories of rescue pets Jaanu, Nandhini and Cookie are indeed testimony to their grit and gumption.
While your $10 donation covers the cost of 1 spay/neuter surgery and vaccination against rabies, and $50 donation covers the complete cost of food, treatment and care for one rescue animal for a whole month, your $100 donation covers the entire cost of an emergency special surgery or the treatment and care for a critically injured case.
With your generosity, we strive hard to protect the most vulnerable street animals of this city. Please continue to support us!
Gratefully,
