Greetings Friends,
As we celebrate the start of a new year, and an opportunity to continue the mentorship of young people across Uganda, we thank you for your support through 2022. Despite not reaching our fundraising target for this particular project, with your donations we were able to identify 10 young leaders in the Karamoja region and train them in conflict transform and peace building. The youth were able to start the first peace club, in their region.
The organisation engaged 9,105 youth in 2022 across Uganda. 3,570 of the youth engaged signed up to become members of Uganda Unites. As members they pledge to uphold the values of non violence and attende our 9 month peace building course facilitated by a volunteer in a peace club. In 2022 alone we 24 new volunteers sign up and join our more than 200 volunteers country wide.
Over the next three months we intend to raise more funds toward training all 700 Builders of Peace in Karamoja.
