Uganda Unites will host a Future Leaders Conference, bringing together 100 young leaders and 50 educators from 50 schools and community centres across 6 regions of Uganda. Participants will gain peace building and leadership skills, launch 50 new peace clubs, and inspire over 1,000 peers, creating a powerful ripple effect of peace and unity across Uganda in an effort to end the cycle of violence.
Uganda's long history of cycles of violence, from civil war to ethnic conflict and political unrest, continues to threaten stability today. With 78% of the population under 30, youth face unemployment, deep-rooted division, and radicalisation. Yet young people are largely excluded from peacebuilding efforts. Without safe spaces to develop leadership skills or connect across regional divides, the next generation risks becoming victims, or drivers, of the same destructive cycles.
Uganda Unites will host a Future Leaders Conference, uniting 100 young leaders from 50 schools and community centres across 6 regions. Participants will gain peacebuilding and leadership skills, bridging regional and ethnic divides. Fifty educators will be trained to sustain this work long-term. Each participant will launch a new peace club, directly inspiring over 1,000 peers, breaking cycles of violence from the grassroots up.
Beyond the conference, 100 trained young leaders will run 50 peace clubs, reaching over 1,000 peers with peacebuilding skills. Fifty equipped educators will embed this work into schools and community centres for years to come. Over time, this growing network of champions will help break Uganda's cycles of violence, fostering a generation that chooses dialogue over division and builds lasting peace across communities.
