During 2019, Foundation Wings of Hope continued activities and services in the field of psychotherapy and counseling, encompassed by its multi-systemic integrative model of work (cooperation between a psychiatrist, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, pedagogues, teachers, and legal aid). With the 9580 USD received through Global Giving, Foundation Wings of Hope will be able to provide 350 free therapy sessions for adults and children.
The Foundation’s model of a multi-systemic integrative approach to the needs of our clients is well-suited for both adults and children. Additionally, we have a child and adolescent-integrative psychotherapist as part of the Wings of Hope team. Most of our clients are referred from previous clients, internet forums, our partners’ schools, Centres for Mental Health, Centres for Social Work, and also from other colleagues/professionals from different institutions. In November 2019, The Cantonal Center for Social work gave public recognition to Fondation Wings of Hope as one of the top three free of charge services providers in Sarajevo Canton.
Our multi-systemic approach and the availability of different services make WoH the first choice compared to public institutions, which are usually overwhelmed by the number of people seeking help. Furthermore, WoH is able to provide services to those who either do not have insurance or are unable to otherwise pay for services themselves.
WoH’s self-evaluation and therapist evaluation questionnaires for 2019 showed that 92% of clients expressed trust in their therapist. 88% of clients report positive behavioral changes related to their psychotherapy goals. Additionally, 65% of clients feel very strongly connected to their environment, friends, and family, and 58% of clients strongly agreed with the statement that they have improved decision-making skills and are overall able to function better in society and everyday life.
