During 2019, Foundation Wings of Hope continued activities and services in the field of psychotherapy and counselling, encompassed by its multi-systemic integrative model of work (cooperation between psychiatrist, physiotherapist, physiologist, social worker, pedagogues, teachers, legal aid ) . The Foundation’s model of a multi-systemic integrative approach to the needs of the project participants both attracts the attention of adult clients and also helps to grow the number of children included in psychotherapy and counselling sessions. Most of our clients are referred from previous clients, internet forums, our partners’ schools, Centres for Mental Health, especially Novi Grad and Vogošca, Centres for Social Work, and also from other colleagues/professionals from different institutions.
Our multi-systemic approach and the availability of different services makes WoH the first choice compared to public institutions, which are usually overwhelmed by the number of people seeking help. On the other side, WoH is able to provide services to those who either do not have insurance or fall through a legal loophole as laws establishing the standardisation and recognition of psychotherapy do not exist.
WoH’s self-evaluation questionnaire for 2019 showed that 92% of project participants expressed trust in their therapist. 88% of project participants report positive behavioural changes related to their psychotherapy goals (62% of project participants report very significant changes and 31% significant changes). Additionally, 65% of project participants feel very strongly connected to their environment, friends, and family and 58% of project participants strongly agreed with statement that they have more social contacts decisions easier.
