Over the past few months, our water refill station in Burgos has played a critical role in ensuring that children, families, and small businesses have access to clean drinking water, especially during extreme conditions. With the combination of increasing temperatures and a two-week blackout that left Siargao residents facing an acute shortage of safe water, Nature Kids of Siargao stepped up to provide an emergency solution. Through our partnerships and advanced filtration systems, we distributed thousands of liters of safe water to those most in need.
Despite the challenges, our team worked tirelessly to distribute free water to classrooms, health centers, and vulnerable community members. Our efforts were supported by the addition of a SkyHydrant Max filtration system, generously provided in partnership with @project_paradise, @savewaterforeverychildphilippines, and SkyJuice Foundation Inc. This system enabled us to supply up to 10,000 liters of 100% safe water daily without electricity during the blackout period.
As schools reopen today, January 2, the need for drinking water in classrooms has surged once again. Many teachers, who often shoulder the cost of water from their limited salaries, are relying on us to provide this essential resource. However, to operate our regular reverse osmosis system fully again, urgent repairs costing PHP 16,000 are necessary. Restoring this system will allow us to meet the growing demand and continue supporting the health and well-being of students and the broader community.
Your donations make this life-saving work possible. Together, we ensure that safe drinking water remains accessible, even during the most challenging times. Thank you for being part of this vital mission to improve lives and create a healthier future for Siargao Island.
