Project Summary:
The project was considered due to most affected area by poverty stricken where in many outreached children no access to education and suffering male nutrition since long. Considering the underlying factors the project will establish 10 Non-Formal schools cum library for disadvantaged children to provide free education in remote areas at Kurigram Sub-District in Bangladesh providing nutritious food & biscuit to 200 malnourished poor children. The project aim to build a school cum library well equipped with necessary books and critical literacy support to 200 poor outreach children. The project plans to fulfilling the nutritional requirements of school-going children and establishing children's right to education.
Project Objective:
The broader objective of the project is to help and support 200 outreach disadvantaged children in rural Bangladesh to facilitate education, nutritional requirements and establish children rights.
Targeted Beneficiaries:
Targeted beneficiaries determined by the geographical area in which a project is located who benefit from a project. The target beneficiaries within the project localities will be primarily comprised of boys and girls children households, who are the most affected by poverty stricken has given the highest priority of the project. The children age to be considered ranging from 06-11 years.
Targeted Outcomes & Measurement
10 non-formal school cum library functional
200 learners has been enrolled
Provided Necessary nutritional food packages
Addressed children rights issues
Provided school dress and bags
10 qualified teachers have been deployed from local communities
Vertical and horizontal linkage established with government line department of education.
Necessary books to be channeled by the Government Education Department for 2023 year.
Regular follow-up and monitoring system has been developed and functional.\
Nutritious biscuits from World Food Programme (WFP) have been communicated
Activities progressed during the period:
(A) Establish Non-Formal Primary School cum Library for the Children:
During the period we have opened 10 school cum library at vicinity aiming to help educate learners with equipped library with books and periodic bringing those long-term sustainable learning approaches. The project aim to educate centered base education at the vicinity composed of 20 learners for each learning center. Total enrolled Learners are 200 of which 60% girls. Teachers have been deployed from the vicinity ensured quality and qualification. Library yet not possible to well-equipped due to resources.
(B) The project provided uniforms to all children for continuing education,
(C) The programme were currently reached to 200 school children provide a unique setting for delivering interventions to school-going children education to promote nutrition literacy. The provision of fortified foods in school lunches provided regularly, the provision of safe drinking water in schools, and age-appropriate education on nutrition, hygiene and health.
(D) Hired School Room for Education: For the continuous education the project locally hired 10 Nos. Room about 30 feet long and 15 feet breathe of each considered for education purpose.
(E) Monitoring of the project: Monitoring is a continuous process of the project to ensure activities is done well as per planed. The project staffs regularly monitor the activities in the field followed by a set management information system (MIS).Any short fall or deviation is reported will be discussed in monthly staff coordination meeting and action will be chartered as decision was made.
(F) Reporting; Reporting for the project is a visibility that exposed the project activities were done. Monthly and Quarterly report is now produced to send all relevant stakeholders including local Government offices.
Long-Term Impact
The project will educate and provide meal and fortified biscuits to 200 poor learners to reduce anemia prevalence and improved micronutrient status. Substantially increased rate of enrollment, school attendance and reduced rate of school dropout. Improved child health and nutrition; social protection and local economies. Fortified biscuits and mixed food have improved school enrollment by 80% and reduced the probability of drop-outs by 90% that impacted in communities in the long run. Besides nutritional condition have improved to health.
Challenge
The project interventions we have already been started and about to conclude. Some activities have been just started and while others activities will also be taken into consideration to implement as per planed. Budgetary funding is necessary to implement the programmes as possible. This project would not have been possible without the budgetary support and help of donors, friends and any individuals.To support the project we have already received very negligible amount against implement the project. The total budget provision for the project USD 10,000. GlobalGiving is utmost trying to raising funds in support of the project. Fund raising is continued and we hope that all the people who have willingly would like to extend their support to the project will be significant impacted of people’s lives. Constraint/Limitation of the project:
I am highly indebted to GlobalGiving Team provided with necessary tools and suggestions for its overall development. My special thanks and appreciations also go to donors and well-wishers and all the people who have willingly helped the project out with their abilities. By this period from since inception very small amount of monies have been funded though it is small in terms of amount but the impact is bigger which significantly changes the targeted children.
