Project Report | Aug 28, 2023
Status/Progress Report

By Enamul Hoque | Executive Directoer

The project was considered due to most affected area by poverty stricken where in many outreached children no access to education and suffering male nutrition since long. Considering the underlying factors this project will establish 10 Non-Formal schools cum library for disadvantaged children to provide free education in remote areas at Kurigram Sub-District in Bangladesh providing nutritious food & biscuit to 200 malnourished poor children. The project aim to build a school cum library well equipped with necessary books and critical literacy support to 200 poor outreach children. The project plans to fulfilling the nutritional requirements of school-going children and establishing children's right to education.

Project Objective:

The broader objective of the project is to help and support 200 outreach disadvantaged children in ruralKurigram, Bangladesh to facilitate education, nutritional requirements and establish children rights.

Targeted Beneficiaries:

Targeted beneficiaries determined by the geographical area in which a project is located who benefit from a project. The target beneficiaries within the project localities will be primarily comprised of boys and girls children households, who are the most affected by poverty stricken has given the highest priority of the project. The children age to be considered ranging from 06-11 years.

Project Need:
The Bangladeshi education system is unusually complex in that primary, middle, senior and tertiary education are oriented towards general, madresh (religious) or technical / vocational preferences Even private schools and universities are heavily subsidized – in fact the constitution decrees that children between ages 6 and 10 shall pay nothing. To complicate things further, local education is controlled by a hierarchy of school boards. The first phase, fully free primary school lasts for 5 years, typically between ages 6 and 10. We need to unify the various types of education systems that exist in our country. We must create a level playing field where every student will get the same and proper opportunity. Discrimination in every stage of education must be removed or else mental separation will be established from the very beginning of their educational life, which can be very dangerous for a nation.

No access of education especially for those who are out reach children. Their role is considered to be that of caretakers and child rears and education would make not benefit to families these are the typical mentality of people living in the villages. That is why we had developed a project to address such underlying factors.

Funding of the project: Budgetary funding is necessary to implement the programmes as possible. This project would not have been possible without the kind support and help of donors, friends and any individuals. To support the project fund raising is continued and we hope that all the people who have willingly would like to extend their support to the project as they like best. Their generosity will makes a huge difference in the lives of many targeted peoples. In this connection we has received 90 USD through GlobalGiving till to date.

Long-Term Impact

The project will educate and provide meal and fortified biscuits to 200 poor learners to reduce anemia prevalence and improved micronutrient status. Substantially increased rate of enrollment, school attendance and reduced rate of school dropout. Improved child health and nutrition; social protection and local economies. Fortified biscuits have improved school enrollment by 50% and reduced the probability of drop-outs by 80% that impacted in communities in the long run.

A project budget is the total projected costs needed to complete a project over a defined period of time. It's used to estimate what the costs of the project will be for every phase of the project. Creating a project budget is a critical part of the project planning process.

Without proper budgeting, a project may not be completed on time. Once a budget is in place, the project management can determine how much money can be spent on each component of the project. We are eagerly waiting for funding in up next to implement the project.

Challenge

Malnutrition has many underlying causes, poverty being only one possible factor. Many other factors play into families' inability to provide their children with the macro and micronutrients they need. Rice is rich in carbohydrates but is poor in micronutrients and Bengali diets tend to over rely on this main staple. Good nutrition requires a diverse diet rich in micronutrients. Micronutrient fortified school meals can support children to overcome the dietary challenges their families face.,

Conclusion:  This project would not have been possible without the budgetary support and help of donors, friends and any individuals. To support the project we have already received amounting to USD 90 out of USD 10,000 through GlobalGiving . Fund raising is continued and we hope thatall the people who have willingly would like to extend their support to the project will be significant impacted of people’s lives.Your generosity will makes a huge difference in the lives of many targeted peoples.
