Recovery Support for Chennai Flood Survivors

Health program as 20 health camps, cleaning and preventing affected houses from Germs, Insects and virus. 6 Doctors involved in the programme. 6400 people benefited from the health camps. Testing, Medicine, Nutrias and referral to further treatment were taken places.

As second phase program 1250 families’ beleonging to Vadathavur, Sadchivakkam, Vinoba Colony, Thookumarakuttai and Natham (Kanchipuram district). 748 families belonging to Natarajapuram, Kallimedu, Kilinchal Colony, Uthamacholamangalam

Since January 2016, five tuition and counseling center in Anumanthputheri, Thookumarakuttai, Sadachivakkam, Vadathavur and Vinoba Nagar are being run. 282 children benefited and got promotion in the program. They are protected from droupout and non school going. Personnel hygienic, sanitation, water prone disease, disaster and its measures,  and educational encouragement of the programme have made

Our second phase rehabilitation programme is continued in Chengalpattu city and areas in Kanchipuram dist and Chidambaram, Cuddalore dist with 27 volunteers, second phase relief and recovery work are going well with following activities completion.         

• Educational materials and school bag with uniform were provided for 770 affected children in 10 areas.
• Utensils cooking equipments and kitchen items with rice and groceries were provided for another 1750 families.
• Health camp reached 4200 people.
• Counseling / tuition reached 600 children is running in that one is completed.
• 19 damaged houses by flood have been repaired
• Skill training and support reached100 flood affected women/girls.

First phase releif and rescue works' completion, at Chengalpattu city and areas in Kanchipuram dist and Chidambaram, Cuddalore dist with 27 volunteers, second phase relief and recovery work are going well with following activities completion. 

• Bedsheet and mat with rice and groceries were provided for 1050 affected families.

• Educational materials and school bag with uniform were provided for 700 affected children in 10 areas.

• Utensils cooking equipments and kitchen items with rice and groceries were provided for 1250 families.
• Health camp reached 2200 people.
• Counseling / tuition reached 500 children is running in that one is completed.
• 9 damaged houses by flood have been repaired
• Skill training and support reached 50 flood affected women/girls.

ROSI Foundation opened project office at Chengalpattu city and 7 volunteers in Chennai relief and rescue works and 5 volunteers in Cuddalore relief and rescue works are involved. Further 2 administration staff are working in the project office.

Flood Relief and rescue works in Chennai and Cuddalore district in that 650 people were rescued from flood and risk condition by ROSI FOUNDATION volunteers. Kotturpuram, Thambaram,Chengalpet and five villages in Cuddalore are under our relief works. 3250 families have been provided by relief support in Chennai and Chengalpattu till today. Another 2000 people are to be provided by relief in Cuddalore district.
