Dear donor,
We would like to thank you for your important support of our work and share Samara's story. A dedicated mother, she takes care of little Marina and Isabel alone, and they live in high social vulnerability.
Due to financial difficulties, last year Samara and her family moved into an abandoned house. Despite the unhealthy environment and lack of security, this house has no cost, being the only possible option for this family at the moment.
With her two young daughters, Samara is unable to work formally. During the period when the girls are in school, she sells drinks and sweets on the streets to supplement the family income.
As part of the Family Action Plan promoted by Dara Institute, they began to receive guidance from doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, lawyers, social workers, pedagogues and training courses. With the monthly help of powdered milk and a food card of R$200, Marina and Isabel were able to eat healthier meals more often, leaving the situation of child malnutrition in which they found themselves.
