Food Aid and School Supplies

Challenge

Drought in semi-arid areas has resulted into shortage of food which affects women, children and old age people. Pandemic hugely have affected women's social economic activities such necklaces, bracelet, belt etc which are made from beads and sold to tourists to support family income during the drought because at that time it is when tourists do visit Tanzania in large numbers for leisure and on their departures do purchase handmade artistries especially from women which increases family income.

Solution

Destiny Hope Foundation through Global Giving partners will mitigate the problem by helping affected families with food aid, school uniforms and stationeries for students. sufficient meals in the family will help children in school to study well because many do attend school when hungry and cannot perform well due to poor concentrations. So food and school supplies will help kids to attend school lessons and learn hence increases the chances of having a good expertise and leader for tomorrow.

Long-Term Impact

The projects will serve 250 households which is more than 1,750 people in the community hence provide them enough food for 3 months during this difficult time of pandemic effects. It will reduce constrain on the family especially women who works many hours of the day searching for family needs such as food, water and fire woods. The children in school will have all of their supplies for one year hence reducing burden from their families.
