This project will provide immediate relief of food and non-food items to the 250 families who are suffering from Floods 2022. The response will be executed in Sindh Province where 114 million people are affected. The Disaster Response teams are already there to identify the most deserving ones; especially women headed households, families with people with disable and family with aged people.
One-third of the country is under water, following an intense heatwave and a long monsoon. Floods and torrential rains are causing irreparable and colossal damage to Pakistan for over the years now. The economic loss due to Floods for the last 5 years is around Euro 3 billion. Flash Flooding in Balochistan, Northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Northern Punjab coupled with torrential rains, cloud burst and urban Flooding has shaken the country as a result of Monsoon 2022.
Emergency Response to this disastrous situation will save 100 households from starvation, illness and related human suffering. The immediate Food relief which covers almost 1 month will help them to recover, Temporary shelters help them to settle temporarily especially benefitting Children, women, expectant mothers, person with disabilities and old ones. Non-food items like mosquito nets, hygiene kits and jerry can will save from COVID-10 outbreak, Malaria, Dengue virus and stomach diseases.
This Emergency Response will save 10,000 household to rebuild and restore their lives
