Advancing on personal business
By Ileana Leyba de Villegas | Exec. Dir. Jovenes Emprendedores/Junior Achiev. VZ
With some donations received at initiating our Women Entrepreneur program, we ve prepared a total of 18 women, who have began steps to launch their personal business in January 2015. Some teams concentrated on the gastronimy and delicatesen delivery businesses, while others focused on designing jewelry or pursued on producing seasonal soaps and candles and teaching the secrets of this business to their collaborators.
A second program was implemented for their collaborators' specialization. After that we have not counted with funds to progress on our purpose. Living in a country which economy has been destroyed, there is materials' scarcity for production. Our beneficiaries are struggling to pursue on their small business, we hope them to succeed.

Planning meetings for new entrepreneur women cohorts trainings
By Ileana Leyba de Villegas | Ileana Leyba de Villegas
Training activities have diminished since June considering the few available locations are overcrowded and lack of funds to accomplish further steps. However, our efforts have been focused in establishing contact with various women associations to find other facilities looking forward to graduate new cohorts once their just initiated handcrafts courses have finished with expectations to receive funds that permit us to continue.
Plans are to go forward on our project after year end governmental elections have concluded and political climate changes for better. Expectations are to initiate new cohorts in January, including young women from 14 years old and up, which help us diversify our target audiences, always addressed to those of low income surroundings who are living in poverty, with lesser advantages.

Seven months have passed since we initiated our project. Until now, 40 women has been formed as well as materials have been produced to improve their knowledge on financial and entrepreneur matters while they have received the necessary tools to convert their produces and trades into productive business.
For the first four months our project was supported by various donors as reported before. However, although we have not received donations since March, we remain incontact with our women, providing them with opportunities to connect with sources of knowledge to enhance what they already know. A team of university Accounting students have provided simple financial product structure models for these ladies to easily understand products cost structure and break even point. Considering most of these ladies have not even reached high school, these are great tools which look forward to simplify their understanding. They have also received preparation with soft personal behaviour tools to improve their performance: communications, speech, team work, and sales.
