At the Del Carmen Foundation, we believe that providing a child with a meal is essential, but giving them a voice is very important.
This quarter, our work in Catia, Venezuela focused on doing both: nourishing the body through community sports and nourishing the mind through leadership training and educational support.
A Story of Transformation
Sared a 16-year-old from Catia, had already shown the courage to speak in front of a group. This quarter, thanks to your support, she was sponsored to attend a professional Public Speaking and Oratory course to strengthen those skills. Today, she is building confidence, refining her voice, and stepping into her potential as a future leader in her community.
What We Achieved Together
With your support, we reached meaningful milestones during a single community event that brought everything together:
Hosted a Friendly Football Game for over 100 children
Distributed 1,000 “cachitos” (traditional ham-filled rolls), along with Malta beverages and fresh water
Provided notebooks to participating children to support their education
By combining nutrition, sport, and education in one day, we created a powerful experience where children were not only fed, but also equipped and inspired.
More Than a Game
This event was more than just football. It was a safe space where children could play, learn, and feel supported. While they enjoyed the game and shared a meal, they also received tools for their education, connecting physical well-being with long-term opportunity.
What’s Next
We are ready to expand our “Leadership & Literacy” initiative by sponsoring at least 5 more students for vocational and leadership training, while continuing these integrated community events in Catia.
We have the plan. We have the community.
Now, we need your continued support to make it happen.
Thank you for standing with the Del Carmen Foundation and the youth of Venezuela.
