Summary

In this project, Del Carmen aspires to transform student engagement with Participatory Education. When students have a say in their learning experiences, they feel a sense of ownership and responsibility for their education. Therefore, this innovative teaching practice leads to increased motivation and a greater commitment to learning and achieving. By forging a path toward a relationship-rich education, the youth of Venezuela will better see the relevance of education to their lives.

Challenge

Venezuela's economic crisis has plunged over 94% of households into poverty, making education an unattainable dream for many children. As schools struggle with limited resources and outdated methods, the country's youth are losing access to the transformative power of learning.

Solution

The Del Carmen Foundation empowers disadvantaged Venezuelan children through participatory education-an approach that actively involves students in their learning journey. This method fosters critical thinking, creativity, and inclusion while transforming classroom dynamics. By equipping teachers with state-of-the-art training, we ensure a supportive and engaging environment where students can thrive.

Long-Term Impact

This innovative teaching approach engages students actively in the learning process, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of ownership. By giving students a say in their education, we're not just improving academic performance; by igniting their passion for learning, we are inviting them to break free from the cycle of poverty.
