In the last few months, your support has provided tremendous support in tackling hunger and malnutrition in Puebla and the surrounding region in the last five months.

Thanks to your generosity and people like you, thousands of children, young people, adults, and elderly people have been provided with the necessary food to survive.

Moreover, you have helped to rescue foods that have lost their commercial life, but whose social identity remains strong, feeding thousands of families.

From January to April approximately, 218,981 food pantries have been delivered to 143,399 people on a weekly basis.

It is important that our community of help grows, please invite family members, friends, and anyone else interested so that aid can reach more people.

This is our first report of the year on GlobalGiving and we want to start by thanking all the people who like you, have allowed us to get food where it's really needed.

The actions we carry out in the fight against hunger are in favor of many families in the community who have been fortunate to find generosity through your recurring donations, allowing them to continue in their daily activities in their homes.

These have been very difficult years for many people, who in some cases have even lost their home, their sources of income or even loved family members. As a food bank we will always be on the front line in the face of contingencies, supporting families in need with food.

¡Thank you for your help!

We share some important data that we have achieved this year thanks to your contributions.

We deliver 578,000 food parcels to 152,860 people every week. A population served was in percentage to 47% children, 38% adults from 18 to 59 years, 16% adults over 60 years, of this population served 59% are women and 41% are men.

With the contributions they give us we can also avoid the waste of food from self-service stores, supply center, orchards and packing plants

And at the end of the year we collected 16,250,000 kilos of food, of which 59% was perishable food and 41% non-perishable food.

The work we do is great, because the problem of hunger is also great and can only be achieved with the participation of all, forming a more humane and conscious society.

Thank you for your commitment to a brighter future for all. Together, we can reach our bold aspiration.

We want to tell you everything we have achieved in these last five months, in favor of vulnerable families in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala.

On behalf of thousands of families, thank you very much, your generosity provides food, but also joy in many hearts where sometimes only hope lived.

In recent months, we have provided food support to an average of 145,000 people weekly, through 220 delivery points for food packages in the States of Puebla and Tlaxcala, also we have avoided food waste rescuing an average of 1,300,435 kilos of perishable food each month and we deliver from May to August, 209,964 food packages.

We created a nutrition project to specifically serve childs who live with food insecurity in highly marginalized areas in Puebla. With this support we seek to train childs on hygiene, good nutrition, but also workshops were held so that parents or guardians could provide more effective and timely monitoring of the nutrition of the little ones at home.

Our project has not finished, but we already have global results of the nutritional status in 8 communities.
It was observed that 61.3%, more than half of the population has a diagnosis of normality; although we also found that 11.7% continue to suffer from some type of malnutrition.

These results are obtained from 520 children evaluated and it was found that 26.9% of the population is affected by overweight and obesity; in the other pole 11.7% of the population with some degree of malnutrition.

Within the population served, 32.9% do not have a height according to their age and sex, so we will continue with the nutritional intervention to stop the loss of height and recover normal growth in these childs. All this as far as resources allow us to continue providing the means for care.

Soon we will provide more information on this project and the achievements of the childs who have participated so far, hoping to improve their quality of life to grow up to be healthy adults with greater possibilities.

On another very important point, I would like to thank and share with you on behalf of the entire community of Banco de Alimentos Cáritas Puebla, that we celebrate 26 years of improving the lives of thousands of vulnerable families through food and that thanks to people like you and your generosity, we are a reliable means to bring food where it was really needed, even in the uncertainty of the times we live in, we could count on you providing food, comfort and hope.

We are happy to share a short video with a brief overview of our history during our first 26 years of experience being a reliable bridge between abundance and lack.(Spanish version)

Two years ago this project was born with the aim of helping people who had been affected by COVID, providing food support to families who for the first time had had to face the lack of food in their homes or to people who already lived some type of vulnerability and were increasingly affected.

Currently your donations through this project allow us to continue providing food support to thousands of families weekly, emergencies such as COVID, hurricanes or wars have taught us how fragile we are, that nothing is so far away as not to affect us..

With this report we want to tell you that we have updated the data and the name of this project, everything is changing but the need to provide food support is more present than before, and our responsibility to provide all these changes in a timely manner.

It is very important to thank you for all you have done by choosing our noble cause with your donations and equally important is to inform you all that we have done thanks to you as part of our community.

During the past year 2021 we delivered 647,500 food packages to 171,800 people in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala.
The population served by the food support provided is weekly.

In recent months, the population requesting food support has decreased, we are returning to the amount of population that received assistance at the beginning of 2020. The reasons are various, from economic reactivation, to the migration of the population or death of some people who were receiving food support.

The number of people requiring subsidies has increased from a population of 9% to 12%, which indicates that the increase in prices makes it almost impossible to have access to daily food or basic services.

Our job is to be a safe and reliable means of getting food to where it is needed.

Your donations are truly gifts that allow us to acquire all those foods that are not donated and thus we can deliver food packages with more complete nutrition.

We are developing new projects that allow us to provide better care to people who need us, but we are also seeking to improve communication with you, who make all our work possible, we want to make you feel closer to the community from Banco de Alimentos Puebla.

We would love to hear from you, what would you like us to include in our reports? We will gladly include in our next reports what you want to know, videos, testimonials, virtual tour. We listen to you and we read you.

Please share this great work that we do together and let's make this help community bigger.

Thank you for all your support.

Sincerily

Support for families in the Coronango community

In March we celebrated two years of receiving your help through GlobalGiving, full of blessings and we are grateful that you have decided to join us in rescuing food and taking it to the families that have been most affected during pandemic.

Unfortunately many of this people we serve who still cannot be self-sufficient to ensure daily food in their homes.

In 2019 at the State of Puebla we had identified in 2019 that nine people died due to lack of food every week. After two years of the pandemic, we have an expectation of an increase in food poverty of 30%.

As a food bank, we are a frontline contingency front to continue providing food support for families who do not have access to daily food.

Just as people lost their jobs or the way to obtain their economic income, there are also companies that did not provide food donations that were forced to close their businesses because they could no longer be sustainable.

Economic donations have been a great help that has allowed us to buy food or pay for logistics services that allow us to continue operating. Sincerely thank you for following us in our mission.

During the months of January and February 2022, we served 131,469 people in need of food in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala. Fifteen percent of the population we serve are older adults over 60 years of age and who are undoubtedly the people who have been most affected by COVID19.

It is a slow start to the year with great expectations for being able to recover the economic stability of health in Puebla and Mexico, but there is still a lot to do.

Our foundation continues to work every day with the pandemic and without it, for more than 25 years we have provided food, but also comfort and joy to families who have lived through difficult times, we are a place where good deeds can be carried out, humanitarian actions and with great Social impact.

Thank you for continuing with us, please ask for your help with your voice, share our work with your friends, family members to help more families, you can also invite them to join this project at your workplace GlobalGiving can give tax deductibles that They can be of help in your tax returns.

We share with you with great affection and respect some photographs of the people who receive food support thanks to your financial contributions.
