Delivery of food packages in Acajete Puebla
Delivery of food packages in Acajete Puebla

Two years ago this project was born with the aim of helping people who had been affected by COVID, providing food support to families who for the first time had had to face the lack of food in their homes or to people who already lived some type of vulnerability and were increasingly affected.

Currently your donations through this project allow us to continue providing food support to thousands of families weekly, emergencies such as COVID, hurricanes or wars have taught us how fragile we are, that nothing is so far away as not to affect us..

With this report we want to tell you that we have updated the data and the name of this project, everything is changing but the need to provide food support is more present than before, and our responsibility to provide all these changes in a timely manner.

It is very important to thank you for all you have done by choosing our noble cause with your donations and equally important is to inform you all that we have done thanks to you as part of our community.

During the past year 2021 we delivered 647,500 food packages to 171,800 people in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala.
The population served by the food support provided is weekly.

In recent months, the population requesting food support has decreased, we are returning to the amount of population that received assistance at the beginning of 2020. The reasons are various, from economic reactivation, to the migration of the population or death of some people who were receiving food support.

The number of people requiring subsidies has increased from a population of 9% to 12%, which indicates that the increase in prices makes it almost impossible to have access to daily food or basic services.

Our job is to be a safe and reliable means of getting food to where it is needed.

Your donations are truly gifts that allow us to acquire all those foods that are not donated and thus we can deliver food packages with more complete nutrition.

We are developing new projects that allow us to provide better care to people who need us, but we are also seeking to improve communication with you, who make all our work possible, we want to make you feel closer to the community from Banco de Alimentos Puebla.

We would love to hear from you, what would you like us to include in our reports? We will gladly include in our next reports what you want to know, videos, testimonials, virtual tour. We listen to you and we read you.

Please share this great work that we do together and let's make this help community bigger.

Thank you for all your support.

Sincerily

Support for families in the Coronango community
Support for families in the Coronango community

In March we celebrated two years of receiving your help through GlobalGiving, full of blessings and we are grateful that you have decided to join us in rescuing food and taking it to the families that have been most affected during pandemic.

Unfortunately many of this people we serve who still cannot be self-sufficient to ensure daily food in their homes.

In 2019 at the State of Puebla we had identified in 2019 that nine people died due to lack of food every week. After two years of the pandemic, we have an expectation of an increase in food poverty of 30%.

As a food bank, we are a frontline contingency front to continue providing food support for families who do not have access to daily food.

Just as people lost their jobs or the way to obtain their economic income, there are also companies that did not provide food donations that were forced to close their businesses because they could no longer be sustainable.

Economic donations have been a great help that has allowed us to buy food or pay for logistics services that allow us to continue operating. Sincerely thank you for following us in our mission.

During the months of January and February 2022, we served 131,469 people in need of food in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala. Fifteen percent of the population we serve are older adults over 60 years of age and who are undoubtedly the people who have been most affected by COVID19.

It is a slow start to the year with great expectations for being able to recover the economic stability of health in Puebla and Mexico, but there is still a lot to do.

Our foundation continues to work every day with the pandemic and without it, for more than 25 years we have provided food, but also comfort and joy to families who have lived through difficult times, we are a place where good deeds can be carried out, humanitarian actions and with great Social impact.

Thank you for continuing with us, please ask for your help with your voice, share our work with your friends, family members to help more families, you can also invite them to join this project at your workplace GlobalGiving can give tax deductibles that They can be of help in your tax returns.

We share with you with great affection and respect some photographs of the people who receive food support thanks to your financial contributions.

I invite you to celebrate the strength and resilience of all the people who have lived through the covid19 pandemic, hurricanes, torrential rains and are standing up to move forward, looking for an opportunity to become self-sufficient again.

We are only the means and the force to bring food to families in the state of Puebla and Tlaxcala who have sought a comforting response for their day and thanks to your donations it is possible to do so.

During the month of September we delivered 44, 881 food pantries and in October 47,385 food pantries in the state of Puebla and Tlaxcala, providing food support to 134,403 people, all thanks to the support of allies like you, who join our mission to fight hunger with concrete actions.

We are really grateful that you have chosen us for your donation, it gives us strength and faith to move forward.

In order to serve thousands of people in Puebla and TLaxcala we do it through more than 100 delivery points, these delivery points are in a community or neighborhood of the residents of that place, they are organized to collect the food from our facilities and take it To their communities, we call this organization: community development, and in some way it helps them to be more aware of their environment, their neighbors and their needs.

Without a doubt, the absence of the right to food causes the violation of other rights such as the right to health, since people do not develop the knowledge for health care, which affects their nutritional status..
Our Intervention model focuses not only on the delivery of rescued food but also on the nutritional training program that addresses three lines of action; provide knowledge about proper nutrition, generate changes in habits in the family and future generations, and improve the nutritional status of the people served.

At this time that we are beginning to experience the first effects of the post-pandemic, many families already have difficulties to pay enough to eat, the increase in prices can mean an impossible choice between food and other essential elements such as medicines, electricity and care of kids. This is an emergency for many of our neighbors.

We invite you to join as a recurring donor, your gift can be more than hope for a family.

Thank you for helping us bring hope to those in need.

You have helped fuel the work of the Banco de Alimentos Caritas Puebla, through the highs and lows, you’ve helped us accomplish so much this past months. We’ve seen many people ask for food aid at food bank, but we’ve also seen volunteers and donors enthusiastically come forward to help our mision

After almost 19 months since the pandemic started and now that there is already vaccination in a large part of the population, we should be experiencing a post-contingency and it is not like that, there are new strains of the coronavirus, a new wave of infections is already present in very Young people and children and our local authorities once again reduced the capacity of businesses, bars, restaurants, which were just beginning to recover their financial situation. A lot of people had sporadic or no pay for a long time and not all paychecks are back to normal. The pandemic reminded us that hunger exists in every community. We also know that the economic fallout from COVID-19 – ranging from job losses to heightened caregiving needs. Many people still need some help.

This crisis isn't over – thousand of people are still struggling to get enough food. As food bank we needs ongoing support from our community.

In recent months we have managed to serve more than 160,000 people weekly and that is thanks to the commitment and dedication of people like you, in this report, we want to show you a little of our work with some photographs that we have selected to share with you.

The support we provide is in two states of Mexico, we provide food support in the state of Puebla and in the state of Tlaxcala, and we have achieved it through more than 250 food delivery points and we also provide support to religious and civil institutions non-governmental. We have five dining rooms where we serve 60 people daily in each dining room at different addresses in the city of Puebla Capital.

Your help makes the difference between hunger and the hope of many people, that is why we are very grateful that you continue to trust us, we invite you to visit us on our social networks or if you want more information do not hesitate to write us, we are the the bridge to take your good deeds where they are really needed.

We want to ask you a very great favor, share our project, this great misión of fighting hunger and that we achieved thanks to people like you. After a difficult year for everyone, full of uncertainties, anguish and anxiety, We still can see the pain and suffering felt in the region, many families with their pride and dignity exhausted by the loss of jobs, some of their personal stories of fighting the pandemic are heartbreaking. That is why we know that we are all in this together to be able to move forward helping families face hunger.

We are more committed than ever to rescuing and distributing food for vulnerable people. It is very important to emphasize that only with everyone's participation, we have been able to provide food support in the state of Puebla and Tlaxcala during this difficult season, The food support during 2020 has been 234 320 people attended in 243 food pantries delivery points in Puebla.

To this day, sanitary measures are still active and people are asked to stay in their homes and only go out if absolutely necessary.
After the first three months of 2021 we see hope in the vaccination process to combat COVID_19, without a doubt one less problem for everyone; but the fight against hunger is something that we have been fighting for 25 years in the region, the coronavirus aggravated this situation, leaving 30% of the population in food poverty above the people who were already in this situation.

The photographic material that we share with you is from some families that receive food support in our facilities and others are from the state of Puebla as well as in the northern highlands.

Together we can make such a difference for people who need a helping hand.

Thank you,
