Hunger is on the rise. In recent months, unemployment and sanitary measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19 have resulted in people not having the possibility of having enough income to cover their basic livelihood. Regrettably, the poverty and hunger crises created by COVID-19 are far from over.
We are a non-profit foundation that provides food support in the state of Puebla and in the State of Tlaxcala, during the month of January 2020 we delivered food support to 132,173 people of all ages, at the end of June we managed to provide support food to 172,917 people. Every day there is a greater need for food in homes. Our greatest need today is to have enough food to continue delivering this help.
As Banco de Alimentos Caritas Puebla we work in these uncertain times to ensure that this pandemic does not perpetuate food shortages, nor deepen the burdens that communities with highly vulnerable populations and low-income people often bear disproportionately. We cannot do it alone, but we know that this moment is an opportunity to give us heart when we are all affected and we see that more people still lack the essentials. Today your participation makes a difference.
We are efficient, effective and adaptable, and we support the growing needs of the communities we serve. We have 24 years of experience and we dedicate all our resources to have the greatest impact on the neediest people, seeking to cover basic needs and today it is food for people avoiding hunger
