Challenge

Rural Yemeni Schoolgirls are suffering too much. The official reports about students who drop out of school are so high. All the catastrophic situations of extreme poverty, hunger, civil war, huge unemployment, and the outbreak of COVID-19 and cholera have gathered to affect the enrollment and attendance rate of students in primary and secondary schools, particularly girls. Parents are not able to provide the necessary and nutritious food for their children. So, girls do not go to school.

Solution

SYS Organization aims to provide nutritious breakfast meals to 1000 rural schoolgirls in Sana'a Governorate. That will increase the number of girls in primary schools. It will reduce children's hunger during the school day. Moreover, it will help and encourage parents to send their daughters to schools, abolishing that negative attitude towards girls' learning. It will eliminate gender disparities. It will contribute so much to achieving gender equality between boys and girls.

Long-Term Impact

1000 school girls at AlNajah School for girls and AlRazea School for girls will get benefit from this project for an academic year. More than 1500 families will get benefit from this project indirectly.
