Supporting Change Makers Around the World

By Meg VanDeusen | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

Working in disaster affected communities means responding to rapidly changing situations and adapting to improve services. Listening to people whose lives are affected - and whom you seek to serveis the first step in figuring out what those adaptations need to be. At Feedback Labs we believe that listening to constituents, and their feedback, is the only way to get it right! so we are excited to train disaster relief professionals on the front lines on the tools and skills to collect and respond to constituent feedback.

But what do you do once you’ve listened? To be successful in disaster recovery efforts, practitioners need tools in place to implement a robust feedback practice with constituents.  Crash Courses are interactive workshops that teach participants the basics of feedback and the key skills to building strong feedback loops with the people they seek to serve. The approach to feedback in disaster relief environments is both a highly important and delicate subject, therefore, we are eager to work with leaders that are passionate about both feedback and recovery from disaster.

Last month, we delivered our first ever Crash Course outside of DC, in San Juan, Puerto Rico! This was a powerful gathering that brought together front-line staff who learned how to better engage with the people they are serving, shared their own experiences in using feedback, and built a strong community of practice.

This fall, we are excited to host another Crash Course in New York in October and add to our ever growing community of feedback enthusiasts. Our next disaster relief Crash Course will be in Mexico. Thank you  for your support in making this conversation happen.

We enjoy having you as part of our journey in supporting change makers everywhere to listen to their constituents. Your support will allow Feedback Labs to enter more spaces and reach more people who display energy and passion for ensuring that people are the heroes of their own stories!

With gratitude,

Meg + the Feedback Labs Team
