A Million Pounds Already Rescued in 2026!

Thank you for your generous support of Rescuing Leftover Cuisine! You are helping provide a safety net for individuals and families who may face food insecurity this year.

As of June, SNAP cuts are projected to strip food benefits from 3.2 million people. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is working to fill the gaps left by these policy changes and make sure surplus food reaches people who need it most. Donations from dedicated supporters like you make this work possible and help keep communities safe.

In the first half of 2026, RLC has been able to:

Rescue over 1 million pounds of food (1,093,216 to be exact)!!
Welcome new partners who are contributing their surplus food, including Formation Bio, David Protein, Prosperity Organic Foods, and Airbnb
Rescue, repack, and donate meals with the help of 30 new corporate volunteering partners, including Vivienne Westwood, Pernod Ricard, and Wegmans

Your Support Helped Us Expand to New Communities in 2026!

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is reaching even more communities across the country by building exciting new partnerships with companies eager to be part of our mission.

These bridges we’re building mean less food wasted and more direct support for those who face food insecurity. And this growth wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our donors.

We can’t thank you enough.

RLC wrapped up 2025 with some inspiring wins...

We diverted a total of 3.9 MILLION pounds of food that could have been sent to landfill
We deepened relationships with corporate volunteering groups, including major companies such as Amazon, Apollo, and CHEQ
We saw major growth in large-scale donations from food retailers (shout out to Sprout Organics in Ohio for being an indispensable large-scale donation partner!)
Over 9 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions were kept out of the atmosphere

As of the new year, we...

Welcomed fantastic new corporate partnerships including Ark Foods, Instacart, SeatGeek, and Idealist
Expanded operations into a record high of 23 states across the country
Started working with NYC City Council Districts to increase awareness of our mission, with more city government collaboration on the horizon
Rescued 422,351 pounds of food in just the first 2 months of 2026!

Looking ahead, food insecurity remains a growing challenge for many households and individuals as prices increase. RLC is committed not only to filling the nutrient gaps that millions of people face but also to bringing them joy through delicious meals. We’re thrilled to share this recent comment from an NYC Food Pantry Coordinator:

“Through our partnership with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, our food pantry has been receiving about 150 pounds of high-quality baked goods each week for the past two and a half years. Our clients love these items because our food packages transform from survival supplies into something more special.”

Filling Critical Gaps Together With Your Help

This year has brought new challenges for the communities we serve. With SNAP cuts and reductions to other critical programs, many people who once relied on these supports are now facing even greater food insecurity. At Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, we’ve been working tirelessly to fill those gaps, and thanks to our incredible supporters, we’ve reached more people than ever while rescuing excess food from restaurants, catering companies, and sports stadiums.

This year alone, we have rescued 3.3 million pounds of food, no small feat! That translates to:

2.7 million meals provided
7.69 million pounds of carbon emissions prevented
Partnerships with three major professional sports stadiums — Fenway Park, Barclays Center, and Citi Field — to rescue surplus food
Increased our corporate volunteer activity by 167% since last year
272 Food donors

We are beyond grateful for the generosity of our donors, corporate partners, and volunteers. Your support ensures that we can provide meals to those who need them most and make a real difference in people’s lives. One nonprofit partner in Chicago shared this moving story:

“A church approached me this week to see if we had food for a funeral for a family that lost an infant. Because of your generous work, donors, and our new outdoor freezer, we were able to provide trays of chicken wings, mac and cheese, potato wedges, and pork roast. The family carries a heavy burden, but we were able to make it a little lighter for them this Saturday.”

As the country watches to see how federal cuts will impact those in need, RLC and our amazing supporters are taking action every day. In this crisis, there’s an opportunity not only to rescue excess food and protect the environment but to change lives for the better.
