Dear Supporters,
Thank you for your unwavering support in our endeavor to empower communities through poultry farming. Our mission is not only to generate income for our NGO supporting widows and orphans but also to provide entrepreneurship training, alleviate food insecurity, and create job opportunities. With 90% of our future profits earmarked for the NGO, we are committed to sustainable development and community upliftment. Despite encountering several challenges in recent months, we remain resolute in our pursuit of our goals. Our efforts have been multifaceted, addressing issues ranging from security concerns to health challenges faced by our chicken population.
Regrettably, we experienced losses due to theft, prompting us to double down on security measures. By bolstering our security infrastructure, we aim to safeguard our assets and prevent further losses. A significant setback emerged in the form of chicken illnesses attributed to a fungal problem prevalent in Tanzania. To combat this issue, we engaged the expertise of a poultry veterinarian and conducted autopsies to better understand the root causes. Subsequently, we initiated measures such as constructing wire mesh floors to minimize contact with contaminated surfaces and implemented modifications in coop design to enhance ventilation and hygiene.
Despite the setbacks, we remain optimistic about the future. An exciting development is our partnership with Meat King as our distributor, which presents a lucrative opportunity for income generation once our expansion plans are realized. While we undertake necessary upgrades and expansions, we have temporarily suspended acquiring new chickens. However, with these improvements, we anticipate increased productivity and profitability in the near future. In other promising news, our layers are poised to start laying eggs any day now, undoubtedly aiding us in achieving our profitability goals. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters whose generosity fuels our vision of self-sufficiency. Your contributions not only sustain our projects but also nurture the hope of a future where our initiatives thrive independently. Together, we aspire to realize ambitious projects such as establishing a soup kitchen to aid the most vulnerable in our society, and the launch of our Safe Water Project which will help thousands of children.
In conclusion, the journey of Feathers of Hope: Empowering by Poultry Farming has been marked by challenges and triumphs alike. With your continued support, we remain steadfast in our commitment to creating positive change and uplifting communities. Thank you for being our partners in this noble endeavor.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Paula Chomba
