We have just finished up with our largest year of serving clients, despite being in a pandemic. We had 314 clients with 4,943 services provided. As spring approaches, we are expecting to see these numbers continue to increase.
Fair Haven is building forward with a variety of client services! We have implemented two new support groups to accommodate more client’s schedules and needs. There will be an Expression group on Saturdays for clients who work during the weekday. This group will provide clients with healthy coping skills using their creativity to process their trauma. Our other new group is a Spanish Speaking support group where we will be using a faith-based curriculum.
Fair Haven has recently had the opportunity to speak at a Self Defense Forum Event. Coordinators were able to highlight Victim Rights, blast statistics, and elaborate on the free services we offer to the community. We were able to provide information, call our community to action, while having a fun time doing it!
We are currently planning our 19th Annual Walk in the Park. The theme for this year will be “Be the Light”, which is inspired by the light that survivors have within themselves as they journey through recovery. The event will offer several food trucks at the walk and will be a glow fun run. This walk will be held at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, IN on June 11th, 2022. The event begins at 5:00 pm. We are excited to welcome the community to be the light and help raise awareness about sexual assault and remember to #ChooseAdvocacy.
