Keep her in school

Through the Keep Her in School program, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is expanding menstrual health education to two additional schools in Eastern Uganda, reaching girls who continue to face barriers caused by menstrual poverty, misinformation and stigma. For many girls, menstruation can become a monthly challenge that affects their confidence, attendance, concentration and participation in school.

This expansion will create safe and supportive learning spaces where girls can receive accurate, age-appropriate information about menstruation, personal hygiene, menstrual management and body changes. Girls will be encouraged to ask questions openly and understand that menstruation is a normal biological process rather than something to fear or feel ashamed of.

The program will also engage teachers and relevant community stakeholders so that girls receive consistent support both at school and at home. By strengthening the knowledge and confidence of girls, we aim to reduce the barriers that can contribute to absenteeism and school dropout.

Donor support makes this expansion possible. Every contribution helps us take practical menstrual health education closer to girls who need it most, while strengthening schools as safer and more supportive environments for adolescent girls.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to ensure that menstruation never becomes a reason for a girl to miss school, lose confidence or abandon her education.

Every child deserves protection, nourishment, clothing, education, and a safe environment in which to grow. Yet in the communities served by F SSIBU Mission Foundation, some children continue to experience abandonment, severe vulnerability, and unstable care.

Through Nurture 200 Lives, we are building a response that begins with meeting immediate needs and grows toward stronger systems of protection. Our support currently reaches 120 children who are fully supported by the organization. The first distribution of food packages is helping address household food needs, while clothing support is helping children maintain dignity and confidence.

These interventions are important, but we recognize that some children require a more secure place where protection and care can be coordinated. F SSIBU Mission Foundation is therefore working toward the construction of a rescue center for abandoned children identified through the communities we serve.

The planned center will become part of a broader pathway of care. Children facing abandonment or serious vulnerability could receive temporary protection and be connected to education, nutrition, healthcare, psychosocial support, family tracing or reintegration where appropriate, and other safeguarding services.

Building this center will require significant investment in construction, facilities, furnishings, staffing, child safeguarding systems, food, education materials, and ongoing operational costs. This is why we are inviting donors and partners to walk with us from the planning stage toward realization.
