A New Beginning: Moving from the Streets to Stable Homes
As Phase 1 of our work with the 10th group of WOW members comes to an end this month, the young people are now planning for Phase 2, when they will begin apprenticeships and further vocational training. A safe and stable place to live is essential if they are to focus on learning and building a new future without the daily stress and uncertainty of street life.
This week, four young men moved into two houses that we have rented and equipped for them. Three other young men, who have found accommodation with friends, received basic household items to help them settle in. We also supported two young mothers who are now living with their own mothers by providing them with essential household items.
We're especially pleased that we have ordered stools for the new houses from Omar, a member of WOW 8 who is now training as a carpenter. It's wonderful to see former participants using their skills to support those following in their footsteps.
None of this would be possible without your generosity. Because of your support, these young people are taking the next step towards independent, productive lives instead of remaining on the streets.
Thank you for making this possible!
