This project will involve establishing a computer lab in a low resource public school in Tanzania as well as strengthening the capacity of teachers on e-teaching skills and establishing sustainable student ICT clubs to ensure 200 students acquire desirable digital skills for their academic and professional development.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the depth of the socio-economic inequalities in our societies. Students without technological resources at home found themselves using cell phones, televisions, and radios to continue learning and they couldn't do much. In Tanzania, as in most other developing countries, education is highly dependent on teachers. Unfortunately, the lack of trained teachers and low levels of ICT skills have been identified as a major challenge to introduce technology into schoo
Our solution involves the following: I. Establishing computer labs in a low resource setting public school. II. Strengthening the capacity of teachers and school leaders on e-teaching skills and establishing sustainable student ICT clubs to ensure youth acquire desirable digital skills for their academic and professional development.
In the long run this project will impact over 1,000 teachers and 10,000 students who will be able to develop their own employment through the gained digital literacy skills
