3rd and 4th Meetings and Delivery of Food Supplies!

XXXXX ENGLISH XXXXXXX

Hello Donors and Supporters,

Our project with the 22 Women Entrepreneurs from the Rocinha community is going very well !

On May 16, 2022 we had our 4th meeting with the entrepreneurs and the meeting was a success. The monthly food baskets were delivered, we had a special lecture presentation from a Sebrae consultant, we delivered some purchased items, and more! The group of entrepreneurs is united and motivated!

During these last two months, we were able to execute several extra activities with the entrepreneurs which definitely helped them grow their micro businesses, increase their income and move forward. Take a look at what we have been doing, in addition to the entrepreneurial support we are offering.

  1. We began visiting their work places! This gives the entrepreneurs an extra boost of morale, allows us to know them better and we used the visits to reinforce points discussed during the Mentoring sessions!  Oh, did we mention we already began the individual Mentoring sessions with each entrepreneur? We also began donating the items as part of the grant donation to each of them!
  2. We promoted 2 opportunities for the entrepreneurs to receive micro credito loans and they had an online meeting with one of the organizations already. These loans can turn out to be zero-interest loans! There is a 4 month grace period and other special conditions on these loans.
  3. We promoted lectures by experts on subjects of entrepreneurial education! The Sebrae organization in Brazil gave the entrepreneurs a lecture presentation on Motivation and Basic Finance and an experienced entrepreneur called Cristina Camargo also shared her knowledge and experiences in an online meeting. These lectures add value and definitely boost the entrepreneurs!
  4. Through a donation received from Btg Pactual bank, we will offer 3 of the entrepreneurs payment of their energy bills for 1 whole year. This will save some extra money for them and let them focus on more important expenses. Thank you Btg!
  5. We have been promoting opportunities for the entrepreneurs to present themselves, their businesses and their difficulties. These activities happen during our monthly meetings. The entrepreneurs stand up and present themselves to others.

As you can see, in this project we have been adding extra activities and promoting additional ways to support the entrepreneurs on their journeys towards higher incomes and micro business growth.

All of this is on top of the 3 step entrepreneurial support - Education, Grant donations, Mentoring - that we are offering them. As said above, we have already begun donating part of the total donation promised to each entrepreneur and we have begun the mentoring sessions. During these sessions, our team of mentors tries to tackle 1 specific problem issue and solve it for the entrepreneurs. Orientation, counseling, best practices and common sense advice are also part of the mentoring we offer them. Basic micro business finance is a very common problem that they have as they rarely control their expenses, sales and rarely know their own profits or losses. We have been mentoring them on simple ways to solve this.

Once again we thank you for your support and donation. Without your help, none of this would be possible.

Our project is within budget and schedule!

XXXXX PORTUGUES XXXXXX
