Partnership!!!
By Claudius Thompson | Project Leader
We are working on a partnership with Verse2Impress, a Christian Clothing line which started in 2006 which would like to start its presence here in Ghana. The main aim is evangelism (the garment being a conversation starter) and as a secondary, generation of sales and establishment of the brand and company. Percentage of sales would be use to help single mothers in this project established.
We are excited about this new turn of event and not giving up hope on the store project as everything works well for those who trust in the Lord.
The CEO of the company, Empress Ahinel in a chat with us, stated that she is really committed to working with us despite several times having to park. With the work force in the women we have in this project we believe she has made the right connection.

Financial Challenges
By Claudius Thompson | Project Leader
This program is still facing financial challenges to start up on a larger basis.
Most of the young mothers who were trained are daily asking for funds to start up their own small venture.
There has been some promises coming in from local ngo which are willing to partner with these mothers, but we have been told to register with fair trade before they can come in to support.
This is new to us and we are therefore looking into how we can make the program fair trade.
We still counting on foreign donors to help bring smiles to these young mothers and make them financially independent.

Since the first stage of the program which was the training of the young mothers, we are still having problem raising enough funds to have them startup the project on a full scale module. Nonetheless, we have been able to secure some funds through a former volunteer of Hoops Care to fix beads jewleries which will be sent to the United States of America to be sold during a special event which will be organize to raise funds for the project. We are extremely glad for this and the products, which were worked on by some of the young mothers and their trainer are ready to be shipped by this coming Monday.
In other development, some works has started coming in on commercial basis to help one of the mothers. She received an order from a school to produce their Friday wear. Here in Ghana, working staffs wear African prints, including batik, to their offices on Friday. She did a marvelous job and was love by the school. We hope to see her get more of such contracts which will go a long way in helping her take care of her child.
We believe that this initiative can eradicate poverty in the community we work with. Kindly contribute in making a better living for our young mothers.
