Since the first stage of the program which was the training of the young mothers, we are still having problem raising enough funds to have them startup the project on a full scale module. Nonetheless, we have been able to secure some funds through a former volunteer of Hoops Care to fix beads jewleries which will be sent to the United States of America to be sold during a special event which will be organize to raise funds for the project. We are extremely glad for this and the products, which were worked on by some of the young mothers and their trainer are ready to be shipped by this coming Monday.
In other development, some works has started coming in on commercial basis to help one of the mothers. She received an order from a school to produce their Friday wear. Here in Ghana, working staffs wear African prints, including batik, to their offices on Friday. She did a marvelous job and was love by the school. We hope to see her get more of such contracts which will go a long way in helping her take care of her child.
We believe that this initiative can eradicate poverty in the community we work with. Kindly contribute in making a better living for our young mothers.
