It is not a hidden fact that there is an exponential level of inflation in the country. Both locally produced food items and imported ones are extraordinarily costly. However, sources of income are not increasing, instead there is steady and progressive loss of monetary value. These put a high tension on an average citizen, especially parents who couldn't afford to provide nourishing food to their children.  Consequently, children are now malnourished and wasting. Oak Rural Health Organization is stepping up her efforts towards making life worth living for the economically disadvantaged populations in our project location. Consultations are underway in our fundraising and materials gathering in order to maintain a steady flow of breakfast packages, among our target populations.

Moreover, there is a high pressure on the Organization from the beneficiaries of our previous programs, demanding for more of the breakfast packages as it has given families a big relief. The Organization needs more helping hands to make this happen. We are directly dependent on your generosity to make provision for the poor children in our effort to prepare them for a better future.

Working with various rural and vulnerable communities is a promising way towards achieving a healthy and productive living. This project in which a load of interventions are embedded, has seen many lives bounced back on their feet. In our recent activity among the landlord forum of Itamerin community in Ibadan Oyo state Nigeria. Free health screening was conducted, where blood pressure and blood sugar were checked for about 50 community members. It led to discovery of new people with hypertension who were promptly counselled and treated. Some of them knew they had hypertension but they have not been taking their drugs. While for others, it was their first time. Thanks to the nature for taking us to such a populated community with no health facility for people to have their health needs attended to.

Mr Y.O was one of the beneficiaries, he could not shelf his joy as he thanked the management of Oak Rural Health Organization for such a life saving interventions. He said though he knew he was hypertensive, but he has been living on herbs with little or no effect. Our presence in the community has made him see reasons why he needs to see doctors in order to treat himself properly.

This project is producing results with the little resources available, thanks to our relentless donors. We solicit for more, so this project will reach many more and together we keep more people alive.

This era of COVID19 pandemic poses a serious challenge to healthcare services planners and providers in the area of priority setting and service delivery. Before COVID19 insurgency, malaria and malnutrition recieved an ample attention from concerned stakeholders, but the pandemic caused a lot of distractions, masking the efforts put on the fight against malaria and malnutrition. However, Oak Rural Health Organization has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the effect of the pandemic in complicating the existing problem is minimised among the vulnerable populations we serve. We set our priorities right by making access to the immediate healthcare needs available within the locality. Many children and even adults have been treated for malaria and its potential complications.

During the year Oak Rural Health Organization provided food packages to hundreds of vulnerable children and families to combat the spate of malnutrition resulting from poverty and exerbabated by loss of families' purchasing power due to COVID19 pandemic. We are indeed grateful for your generous support and donations over the year. We wouldn't have made it this far without you. Putting your resources to this course is never a waste, it has saved even the generations unknown.

Curbing malnutrition among the children of low economic background remains the priority of Oak Rural Health Organization. This has become more important during this period of high inflation and food scarcity. Meeting up with the children's daily nutrients requirement help them with effective growth and development which levels up with their ages.

It was a joyous moment as our team embarked on house to house distribution of food packages containing a 4 day supply which is expected to deliver at least 50% of their daily nutrients requirement. Both children and parents at Itamerin and environments of Akinyele LGA of Oyo state Nigeria will remain grateful for this timely intervention. This activity is expected to be ongoing till as long as the resources is available.

Oak rural health Organization is happy to have made it this far, reaching the underserved communities with gestures like this. This achievement is credited to the kind gestures of our donors who have been giving relentlessly to this cause. Giving more will enable us provide more for these vulnerable children, so they can become useful to the society and the entire nation. We are grateful to all!

With COVID19 pandemic still unleashing mayhem on individuals and businesses. There is need to fashion out projects implementation activities in a way to prevent more people getting infected.  However, human and capital resources are being deployed to fight the pandemic at the expense of other deadly conditions like malaria, malnutrition and hypertension. Oak Rural Health Organization  now carries out the project implementation in a way to prevent the spread. Community health outreach which is our major way of reaching the unreached is being put on hold until everyone is safe to gather in masses.

Meanwhile,  our project centre has been facelifted to provide more comfort to the service providers and clients. The centre now has more feature like consulting room, treatment room and side laboratory. Our project staff now conduct more home visiting and give home based services. There is community based awareness to encourage community members to patronize the project center. We are pleased to have made a huge impact with just a little percentage of our funding goal. We hope to replicate this gesture in other hard to reach settlements, with more donations from our kind hearted donors. Our combined efforts will ensure everyone is safe and healthy!
