Debunking the myth.

By Amos Ajisekola | Project leader

We are glad to meet Master G, a 7-year old in our recent expedition at itamerin community. He was said to have been with an unexplained fever which is on and off. The parents also complained that he has not been eating well and loosing weight. They tried to treat him with means available but unyielding. Master G was later placed on dry fasting, with believe that his symptoms are spiritual.

During our outreach, an assessment was carried out, malaria diagnosis kit was also used. The test later came positive for malaria. He was place on a 3-day course of malaria treatment. The mother was happy to receive our team during our follow-up visit as the boy was free of symptoms.

We have recorded many success stories from this project. However, some people still attribute malaria symptoms to some spirits. This exercise actually debunked the myth. Thus, calling for the need to do more.

Thank you for helping us attain this milestone. Giving to this project is helping us more than expected. We believe you will give more and still tell your folks about this exciting opportunity to keep more people alive.
