In rural Uganda, many vulnerable children face challenges related to poor hygiene, limited school resources, and lack of practical life skills.
Through our Soap Making for Health & Income in Rural Schools project, we are working to change this reality by equipping children with soap-making skills that improve health while creating opportunities for sustainability and empowerment.
With support from donors through globalgiving.org, students are being trained to produce branded liquid soap using affordable local materials. The soap is used in schools to strengthen sanitation and handwashing practices, while extra products are sold to support vulnerable children with school supplies and educational needs.
Beyond production, children are becoming ambassadors of hygiene in their homes and communities. Many are teaching family members the importance of cleanliness and safe handwashing, helping create healthier environments for everyone.
We are also excited to expand into solid soap making, giving students additional vocational and entrepreneurship skills that can support long-term self-reliance and confidence.
Although we are making meaningful progress, we still need support to grow our impact. Current needs include:
Protective safety equipment
Production tools and containers
Raw materials and testing supplies
Expansion support to reach more schools and children
Our vision is to reach at least 1,000 children with life-changing hygiene and vocational skills under our message:
“Clean Today, Empower Tomorrow.”
We sincerely thank every donor, supporter, and partner helping us build healthier schools, empowered children, and stronger communities across Uganda.
