This project is a grassroots initiative designed to transform the lives of 1000 disadvantaged youths by equipping them with sustainable skills in traditional and contemporary craft making. Through this project, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and despair by unlocking the creative potential of young people and turning it into a source of dignity, employment, and income.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, Uganda has the highest unemployment rate among the youth. With 72.3% of the country's population aged 30 and below, representing over 33 million people out of the total 45 million. 51% of the youth aged 18-30 are not in education, employment and training. This project will affect 1000 unemployed and out-of-school youths providing them with the much needed skills and resources to enable to have a life-long source of income and employment.
The project aims to break the cycle of poverty and despair by unlocking the creative potential of young people and turning it into a source of dignity, employment, and income. It will provide hands-on training in beadwork, basket weaving, tailoring, paper crafts, and recycled art using locally available materials. Participants will also receive mentorship in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and marketing-ensuring that their skills translate into real economic opportunity.
This project will train 1000 youths leading to increased income and employment among young women and orphans. Revitalize traditional Ugandan craft heritage with a modern entrepreneurial spirit. Strengthen community ties and reduce rural-urban migration. This will lead to a new generation of empowered, creative, and economically independent youth.
