We are grateful to share an update on our project, Empower 1000 Youths Through Skills in Rural Uganda. Through your encouragement and support, we continue creating opportunities for vulnerable children and youth to gain practical skills that improve their lives and future opportunities.
This project focuses on equipping young people in rural communities with hands-on vocational and life skills that promote self-reliance, creativity, confidence, and economic empowerment. Many of the children and youths we work with face challenges such as poverty, limited access to education, unemployment, and lack of opportunities for skills training.
With support received from generous well-wishers and partners outside the GlobalGiving platform, some funds have successfully been raised to support different training activities for children and youth in our communities. These contributions have enabled us to conduct practical skills development sessions in several areas, including:
These trainings are helping young people discover their abilities, build confidence, and develop practical skills that can support them in the future. Girls involved in reusable pad making are also gaining important knowledge about menstrual hygiene while learning income-generating skills.
In addition, sports activities have continued to promote teamwork, discipline, leadership, and positive engagement among children and youth within the community.
Impact So Far
Through the project, we have witnessed encouraging progress:
Many children are now actively applying the skills they have learned within their homes and communities.
