At the Slovenian Society for Dog-Assisted Therapy, we are very proud that, after several years of work, the Manual for overcoming the fear of dogs has been published. The main promotional event for the release of the Manual took place precisely on the International Day of Happiness, March 20th, which also marks the day of "Helping Paws." The promotion included invitations to journalists and experts in the field, the participation of children, and a roundtable discussion on the creation and purpose of the Manual.
The Manual provides detailed steps, which also involve a therapy dog team. In addition to the manual, we also published a children's book titled The Secret of Grandpa's Book, which is aimed at children and engages them on multiple levels. Both books include appropriate exercises.
Following the central book launch, local presentations of our new program for "overcoming the fear of dogs" are already underway.
