Dear Impulso friends and family,
As we head toward the end of the school year, Impulso Universitario is happy to share that of the 272 students who began the school year, 158 have either remained in school or graduated during the year. At a rate of close to 92%, we need to show that our job to help Youth Agents of Change remain in higher education has been going well this year and to reflect on where to improve to keep that rate higher. Additionally, as we head into the final week of class for these students, we want to celebrate the 77 students who are graduating from our training program and, from them, the 17 students graduating from university as a whole. The remaining 60 will continue as part of our Youth, receiving other kinds of support in their path to university graduation.
As always, we worked with our future Agents of Change through our Comprehensive Training Program. Since the last report, we carried out seven program sessions covering various topics. Among those included were job readiness, financial literacy, social volunteering, human rights, and social project planning. Other significant activities we had during this time were our yearly Cinema Forum, Human Rights Day, and our annual Camp, all great opportunities to put into practice or reflect on many of the skills our Agents of Change have been developing. The other main parts of our programs, such as financial aid and psychological support, have continued as always.
Finally, we must inform all our donors that we started a certification course for our Impulsores volunteers and collaborators to provide better service to our beneficiaries. This certification intends to prepare the volunteers to better help and support our students with various issues, from planning their activities and projects to identifying and channeling personal requests for help.
If you wish to know more about our activities, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to connect further and show you all of our actions.
Thank you for supporting Impulso Universitario. Your generosity allows our students to complete their studies and become promoters of the common good in their communities.
