Since our last update, our programs across Africa have continued to grow through a strong focus on local leadership, teacher training, and the integration of new technologies. We are seeing increased ownership from regional partners while expanding opportunities for students to engage in robotics and emerging technologies such as AI.
Mozambique:
In Mozambique, we have begun working with a new generation of middle and high school students. This new cohort is entering the robotics pathway, building foundational technical skills while continuing to strengthen the program’s long-term sustainability and reach within the community.
Ethiopia:
In Ethiopia, we have successfully trained five teachers from our partner school, Haile Manas Academy. These students and alumni of the program, are now actively teaching and supporting programs in other African countries. This milestone represents a significant step forward in our “students into teachers” model, reinforcing regional leadership and scalability.
Namibia:
In Namibia, we are currently designing a new summer initiative: a Virtual Robotics Camp. This program will integrate robotics with introductory AI-based learning activities, providing students with early exposure to emerging technologies while expanding access through a flexible, virtual format.
We have also launched a new program in Sierra Leone in collaboration with our local partners at GUIDE. As part of this effort, we donated five computers to support program implementation and ensure students have access to the necessary technology. This marks an important step in expanding our presence in West Africa, building new pathways for students to access STEM education and participate in our broader learning community.
