Empowering 30 Latin People in Mexico

Dear friends,

Thanks to the contributions received from corporate and individual donors through this platform and other sources, we have been able to move forward with the activities of this project. Today we are happy to share them with you. Since our last report to date, we have trained a new group of people who come from Latin American countries and who today have found in Mexico an opportunity to get ahead through entrepreneurship.

These people have been trained in human development issues; administration and marketing; personal and business finance, legal and fiscal aspects; sales and customer service, and social responsibility. A total of eight people joined our workshops, seven of them from Cuba: Armando, 27 years old; Aurora Isabel, 25 years old; Juan Enrique, 23 years old; Karenia, 38 years old; María Teresita, 60 years old; Miriam, 58 years old; and Yimi, 32 years old. Adding the participation of Angela, 32 years old and originally from Colombia. By strengthening their businesses, these people prepare to employ more people, thus making an impact that expands and benefits more people in our contry.

Dear friends,

Our commitment remains to continue training in business skills to people who come to Mexico in search of better life opportunities and economic development; for this reason, today we are happy to share that in the last two months, we managed to train four more people: two from El Salvador and two from Venezuela. They were trained in administration, finance, marketing, sales, customer service, and social responsibility through our "Taller Emprende."

Rosmari, Wilber, Miguel, and Crispín, were trained between December 2022 and January 2023 in this project. Thanks to different allies, all of them were supported to develop and implement a business project that will allow them to create self-employment in the short term and later have the opportunity to employ more people in the country.

Thank you for staying on top of these stories. We hope you, like us, feel excited to know our positive impact on people who want to achieve a more dignified and productive life.

Dear friends,

Since our last report in July, we have made steady progress so that more people in Mexico find alternatives to generate their income and boost their development and that of their families.

Although from April to July we managed to provide business training to three women originally from Venezuela, who keep their businesses in Mexico; this time we have managed to get eight more people to be accompanied on their path of entrepreneurship. This was possible thanks to the alliance with a social investor who for years has been committed to the cause of ProEmpleo and who gladly joined this project "Empowering 30 Latin people in Mexico."

Dear friends:

I am happy to share with you the progress we have made on the project "Empowering 30 Latin people in Mexico", which we launched in April 2022.

After detecting that the economic crisis from the pandemic increased unemployment considerably and forced many people to leave their places of origin to move to Mexico in search of new ways to generate income, self-employment is a way of reintegrating into the world of work through entrepreneurship. However, they faced the developing and managing micro-enterprises or self-employment initiatives without business knowledge and skills, limiting their projects' growth or survival.

We focused on promoting the development of 30 Latin people in vulnerable situations who live in Mexico who can develop a business plan project that allows them to manage their productive activity correctly. Through the "Taller Emprende en Línea," an online business and life skills training emphasizing entrepreneurial, practical, and training initiatives, they can now self-employ and exercise an honest, productive, and well-paid quality job.

From May 16 to June 17, 2022, we gathered the first group of 12 beneficiaries. Thanks to donations from an international institution that decided to join the project, we trained nine of twelve people. The three remaining participants we managed to integrate into the project thanks to the contributions you have given us through this GlobalGiving platform.
