Because of you, our programs are creating positive change for women and girls, and their communities, for a healthier and more sustainable world.

In Central America, our radio drama ‘Con los Pies en la Tierra’ (“With Our Feet in the Soil”), is increasing climate resilience and sustainable agricultural practices across El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Con los Pies en la Tierra’ has over 4 million listeners. Among those surveyed:

  • 95% learned a new sustainable agricultural practice that protects farmland and builds climate resilience
  • 85% adopted these farming techniques

Con los Pies’ is in its 4th year and is funded by our long-time partner Catholic Relief Services. With recent additional funding from the Nielsen Foundation and a generous donor, PCI Media is expanding this impactful program to better reach women farmers, who are most affected by the climate crisis in the region.

Gathering Research and Talking to Women Farmers

PCI met with our local partners in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, where we conducted a design workshop, focus group sessions with women farmers, and created a broadcast plan for this next phase of the project.

Were now in the process of analyzing the information to incorporate it into the creation of videos and radio programs that are tailored specifically to empower women farmers. The resultwill allow women access to farming techniques that preserve the land and their livelihoods.

We look forward to sharing further updates on this new phase of “Con los Pies” that will empower women farmers to use sustainable farming practices and access opportunities in agriculture.

Thank you for supporting PCI Media’s critical programs, like this one, that empower women, girls, and communities to adapt to the climate crisis and plan for a better future.
