As the earlier years, this year we completed the theory classes of the paralegal training. This is our 5th paralegal training for survivor in Kathmandu. This training as the previous years, this training also went well. Despite the training we also provided the psycho-social counseling to the survivor women. This year also there were 30 girls participated in the training. In the theory class, we teach them about the Nepalese Acts, legal procedures, legal help and also the writing skills of complaints, application and FIR. We also focus on making the girls aware about the ways of receiving the legal help when in trouble and also to provide help to others. We are preparing the approval letter s which needs to be given in the 25 police stations, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur for the practical classes which is starting from the first week of November. The photo of the training is also shown below.
From this year we also started the paralegal training in Pokhara as well. Firstly, we rescued 15 girls and then provided them with the psycho-social counseling. And then we started the theoretical classes from August 20 and is completed in September 20. In the theory class, we teach them about the Nepalese Acts, legal procedures, legal help and also the writing skills of complaints, application and FIR. We also focus on making the girls aware about the ways of receiving the legal help when in trouble and also to provide help to others. We are sending the girls to the 7 police stations in Pokhara for their practical classes from the first week of November.
This training is going good and is required in other cities as well. The number of such victims is increasing and for this the funding is not enough. So we heartily request you to send us funds so that we can take this program in other areas of Nepal as well.
