Sangeetha says that she excelled in her studies simply because of the way teaching is imparted at Isha Vidhya. She was a school topper at Isha Vidhya Tuticorin with a score of 97% in Class 10 and 72% in Class 12.
She also walked away with top prizes in oration and writing competitions. This motivated alumna is currently doing her B.Sc in Computer Science at the Holy Cross Home Science College, Tuticorin. Inspired by her sister, she wants to pursue coding.
Sangeetha joined Isha Vidhya on a scholarship in Class 2 and says her teachers at school were like her second parents. She attributes her accomplishments at Isha Vidhya to the method of teaching, encouragement to participate in extracurricular activities, the freedom to express oneself, and the food.
Although she misses Isha Vidhya, Sangeetha says she finds the progression to college exciting.
Indumathi's first brush with a lab was at her alma mater, Isha Vidhya Erode school. She feels that Isha Vidhya's labs have fantastic facilities – which stimulated her interest and helped her learn well.
The constant financial struggles of her father, a school dropout and a lorry driver, have motivated her to succeed in her studies. She was a school topper with a score of 97% in Grade 10 and 75% in Grade 12. In pursuit of her favorite subjects – Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry – she's now studying her B.Sc with Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Avinasilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. She recently won a prize for making a video to generate awareness about the Coronavirus.
She says the transition from school to college was challenging as the college environment is a tougher one than she anticipated, but she's determined to work towards her success!

This alumna is so focused on achieving her goals that she's now taken on extracurricular activities including becoming a member of the Entrepreneurship Club, the Rotaract Club, the YRC, the Student Quality Council, and CEG Study Circle.
We are so inspired to have alumni like Sowbarniga!
My journey with Isha Vidhya began in 2014 as a school coordinator in the Government School Support Program (GSSP) which is part of Isha's outreach project in education. Two years later, I was promoted as a supervising coordinator, and three years thereafter, I was promoted as the Principal of Isha Vidhya Dharmapuri.
Before I worked on the GSSP project, I had never nteracted with government and senior officials, but was able to work effortlessly after undergoing the training by the academic team. They trained me to handle issues with government officials, train teachers, and prepare content – and in my experience, I have never een any school give so much importance to the training of teachers.
Our efforts in government schools have been very effective with students doing very well in exams and so, we were further allocated around 120 government schools in 6 districts.
When I became the Principal, the team once again helped me make the transition since the methodology used in Isha Vidhya schools is different from that used in government schools. At Isha Vidhya, I'm able to interact with students more closely and appreciate and encourage their talents.
Before joining Isha, I only had teaching experience, but during my journey here I got the opportunity to learn so much. I'm computer savvy now, I can prepare content, train teachers, engage effectively with government officials as well as parents, manage administrative work, and lead by example.
I feel really proud to be working at Isha Vidhya and I see myself always working here. I am thankful to everybody who has helped me grow professionally.
All this was possible because of the grace of Isha Education’s founder Sadhguru.
Anusara, who is currently studying in Grade 8 at Isha Vidhya’s Nagercoil school, won a certificate of participation when she was in Grade 6 in the Indian Talent Exam at the National Level Competition in General Knowledge.
This spunky youngster discovered (from research) that many successful IAS officers had studied GK from their childhood in preparation for the IAS entrance exams so she's chosen the same route. She started preparing to fulfill her dream to become an IAS officer when she was in Grade 6.
Her father works in a teashop. Anusara relies on the school library to expand her general knowledge. She goes through the newspaper every day thoroughly besides devouring the library books.
Her teachers, too, have given her all the support to sharpen her general knowledge and encourage her to participate in numerous competitions. But it's her mother who has inspired her to become an IAS officer, supporting the poor and down-trodden.
Indian Administrative Service (IAS) through General Knowledge! How does that sound?!
