The fight against corona virus required collaborative efforts of all person at all level in the global world. To join this global fight, girls club members in Nanumba after the re-opening of schools after schools were closed down for a long time started the term activities by embarking on peer education on the preventive measures of this virus, they educate each other at their club level to ensure every one understand and obey the safety protocols against the noble corona virus. They engaged colleagues on the need and better ways of using personal protection equipment’s such Nose mask, Hand sanitizers etc, to prevent themselves and others form contracting this virus especially now that the rate of infections in northern part of Ghana is gradually increasing than previous
19 years old Aramatu, a girl club member from Nanumba (JHS2 student from Tadamuni Islamic school), led her colleagues to discussed ways of preventing corona in her school. She discussed preventive measures such as: Always wear your face mask in the midst of people, use hand sanitizer anytime you come in contact with others , practice social distance and wash your hand with soap under running water. She demonstrated the best way of wearing face mask to her colleagues and how to use hand sanitizer. He colleagues were happy receiving this education form their leader. They demonstrated clear understand of what was discussed by their leader and committed to practicing at all time in and out of school. To express her excitement on the leading role discharge in the fight against the global pandemic, noble corona virus, this is what Aramatu had to say: I am very happy to lead my colleagues on measures to prevent the noble corona virus in my community, country and the world as whole. In our effort to join the fight against this pandemic as girls club, we have embarked on peer education where leaders take members through some essential topic on the preventive measures of this virus. And as a student leader I was fortunate to be among those selected to receive education on the noble corona virus by songtaba. I thank songtaba and their partners for such wonderful support and hope to receive more of such education and training from them.
This kind of wonderful effort from the girls is practice in all the programme school in Nanumba. A total of 1225 girls from 19 programme school are currently benefiting from this education on preventive measures on corona virus.
