This project aims to improve educational facilities at Makod Primary School in rural Ethiopia, serving 2,000 students & 150 adults in overcrowded and damaged classrooms. Currently, only seven makeshift classrooms are available. We seek to construct 40 permanent classrooms to meet the standard of 30 students per room and an additional 10 classrooms for adult education. This will alleviate congestion, enhance learning conditions, & improve academic performance, ultimately empowering the community.
Makod Primary School is experiencing a critical shortage of educational facilities, with just 7 makeshift classrooms serving 2,000 students and 150 adults. This overcrowding creates severe congestion, increasing the risk of stampedes and injuries during activities. Deteriorating conditions disrupt learning, contributing to poor attendance and low academic performance. Without urgent intervention, these learners' potential remains unfulfilled, hindering community development.
The project aims to construct 40 permanent classrooms and an additional 10 for adult education at Makod Primary School, significantly reducing overcrowding. By providing adequate space for 30 students per classroom, we will alleviate congestion, enhance safety, and create a conducive learning environment. This infrastructure will improve attendance and academic performance, empowering both students and adults in the community while fostering sustainable educational growth and stability.
By providing 40 classrooms for 2,000 students and 10 classrooms for 150 adults, we will create a safer, more effective learning environment, leading to improved educational outcomes and higher graduation rates in Pulkot kebele. This increased access to education will empower students and adults, fostering skill development and economic opportunities. Ultimately, better facilities will attract more families, promoting community growth and stability, resulting in a stronger local economy.
