Mid-Year Report

The new classroom for our empowerment workshops
The new classroom for our empowerment workshops

We're already almost halfway through 2025 and we have a lot to catch you up on. This year is shaping up to be our most impactful one yet!

In La Guajira, Colombia, since the start of the year:

  • We launched a bulk food co-op in a remote Wayuu community to improve food security and create income earning opportunities for women
  • We funded the construction of a water storage tank in a seaside Wayuu village that had no access to potable water
  • We funded the construction of a meeting space in Tocoromana, a Wayuu community located in a national park, where the artisans will be able to host weaving classes for tourists
  • We funded the construction of a new classroom space on a piece of land we helped our partners at Fundación Talento Colectivo purchase last year (now the location of many of our workshops!)
  • We onboarded 10 new weavers, increasing our artisan team to 110 women
  • We provided 12 full-day empowerment workshops for the artisans on sustainable community-led entrepreneurship, positive leadership, and product innovation
  • We hosted an 8-day Solidarity Trip to La Guajira for six of our supporters to come and see our work with Wayuu communities first hand

We really feel the momentum of our work building and our impact deepening as each month passes. This progress would not be possible without your donations-- we still have a long way to go to reach our goal of 150k. We hope you will consider helping us sustain this work by signing up for recurring donations today.
